DETROIT KING: Ranked No. 5 in Mick McCabe’s preseason rankings, the Crusaders have won four of the past seven against Cass Tech, including last season’s 47-7 victory. The blowout was an outlier in an otherwise back-and-forth series. King has a slew of young talent, but defensive backs Jaylen Reed (Penn State) and Rishad Hence (Akron) form one of the better DB tandems in the state.

DETROIT CASS TECH: Ranked No. 3 in McCabe’s preseason rankings, the Technicians are loaded with FBS talent, including Michigan commit Raheem Anderson, Pittsburgh commit Terrence Enos and Penn State commits Kalen and Kobe King.
