Governor Ducey Proclaims Arizona Health Information Exchange (HIE) Week, Oct. 11-17, 2020

PHOENIX, Oct. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Governor Ducey has proclaimed October 11-17, 2020 as Arizona Health Information Exchange (HIE) Week to reaffirm Arizona’s commitment to promoting the secure sharing of electronic health data across a broad spectrum of the state’s healthcare landscape, including health systems and hospitals, labs, community behavioral health and physical health providers, post-acute care and hospice providers, first responders, and many others.

“We’re thankful for this proclamation, as it’s an important recognition of Arizona’s significant efforts over the last 15 years. Ultimately, the success of the HIE reflects the collaborative environment of the state’s healthcare community,” said Melissa Kotrys, CEO of Health Current, Arizona’s designated HIE. “As a result, all healthcare providers have the ability to access more complete patient information for better coordinated care—which is especially important during times of crisis. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the HIE has played a key role in delivering

Apple has announced its newest iPhone during a September media event every year since 2012’s iPhone 5. During the 2020 Apple event last month, we got new Apple Watch and iPad models, and a bundled subscription service, but no new iPhone. That didn’t come as a complete surprise, as a delay had been rumored for months. Now, Apple is hosting a second virtual launch event on Oct. 13, where the iPhone 12 is expected to make its delayed debut. Here’s how to watch Apple’s livestream.

The iPhone isn’t the only missing-in-action update or new launch we’ve been waiting for. These are some of the things we didn’t see in September, but that might (or might not) show up before the end of the year.

Will Apple announce a new HomePod on Oct. 13? Here’s what we know

Apple’s HomePod debuted in 2018. It had a $349 price tag, great sound and the risk of putting white rings on your tabletop. Since then, despite some nice iterations on the HomePod’s features via periodic software updates, Apple hasn’t made much progress in the smart home, even as Amazon and Google continue to expand their audiences for Alexa and Google Assistant products across the board.

Apple’s HomePod prices are down.

But according to a Bloomberg report earlier this year, Apple isn’t giving up on the HomePod. According to “people familiar with the plans,” Apple is planning to release a smaller and cheaper HomePod. Details are few, but sources say that the new HomePod will be approximately half the size of the original. It will keep the same design, just on a smaller scale.

Apple

In a normal year, Apple would have already announced and started shipping the latest iPhone models, but this isn’t a normal year. Instead, Apple still held its annual September event where the company announced new Apple Watch and iPad models, but no iPhone. And now we know that Apple will hold another event on Oct. 13, just as rumors had claimed, where the company is expected to announce the new iPhones.

In fact, it looks like we might see up to four new iPhone models released with shipping dates as late as November. The phones themselves will be faster, have improved cameras, and include 5G

Below we’ve rounded up all of the leaks and rumors we could find, but keep in mind until Apple actually announces the new iPhone, any and all of the information covered below can change.

Apple (AAPL) Set to Unveil iPhone 5G at Oct 13 Virtual Event

Apple AAPL is set to host an online event on Oct 13 where it is reportedly set to unveil new iPhones, including those supporting 5G.

Markedly, Apple guided during its third-quarter fiscal 2020 earnings call that sale of new iPhones will begin a few weeks later against the usual late-September release attributed to supply-chain issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Apple has been speculated to launch four new iPhone models that include two cheaper iPhone 12 models at 5.4 inches and 6.1 inches, and two iPhone 12 Pro models with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens. Notably, the 5.4-inch phone will be the smallest iPhone since the iPhone SE was released in 2016 and the 6.7-inch model is the biggest ever.

Per a Bloomberg report in April, the iPhone 12 Pro models are expected to have three cameras and new 3D LIDAR sensors that help with augmented-reality applications. The upcoming iPhones are
