Realme phone with 125W fast charging tech coming soon

Realme might introduce its industry-leading 125W SuperDart fast charging technology on a smartphone soon. The company is teasing the first smartphone with the charging technology will debut in Europe soon. Realme’s CEO for Europe and India, Madhav Sheth has tweeted a photo of a power brick along with some hints in the caption. Those hints could be for a Realme 7-series phone that might get this 125W fast charging solution.

“We’re planning #FAS7ER things for @realmeeurope – so stay tuned!” wrote Madhav Sheth on Twitter. This points to a model under the Realme 7 series, but we are not sure if that will be brand new or an existing one. Realme sells three models under the 7-series: Realme 7i, Realme 7, and Realme 7 Pro. There has been some chatter around the Realme 7 Pro SE, so that might be the candidate for 125W charging tech we are looking at. The 125W SuperDart fast charging technology is claimed to juice up a 4000mAh battery in under 20 minutes while the 33 per cent charge is topped in only three minutes.

The SE nomenclature is borrowed from Apple, which, traditionally, launches these ‘Special Edition’ models for a price lower than that of the marquee model. For example, the iPhone SE costs way less than what the iPhone 11 costs. Similarly, this year’s brand-new Apple Watch SE is less expensive than the Watch Series 6. If Realme is following this pattern, the 7 Pro SE might end up getting a price tag lower than that of the Realme 7 Pro. But, in that case, I am not sure how the top-class 125W charging would be supported, considering it is going to be expensive technology.

Realme is holding an event on October 7 in Europe where it is poised to launch the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro devices. I am not sure if there is going to be a third phone for 125W tech or if the company has tweaked the Realme 7 Pro to include this fast charging tech for the European market. The Realme 7 Pro for India supports 65W fast charging that has been available to mid-premium range phones so far. Not just that, Realme launched the Narzo 20 Pro with 65W charging technology for only Rs 14,999, making the cheapest phone in the world with the 65W fast charging technology. We will have to wait for more announcements from Realme to see what plays out for Europe.
