GE Healthcare Introduces New Edge Technology Designed to Give Clinicians
Rapid Access to Critical Data
CHICAGO -- October 14, 2020
GE Healthcare today introduced Edison HealthLink, new edge computing
technology designed specifically for the needs of healthcare providers, that
allows clinicians to collect, analyze and act upon critical data closer to its
source. With 10 applications already available through Edison HealthLink –
including TrueFidelity image reconstruction, Mural Virtual Care and CT Smart
Subscription – the solution gives healthcare providers another entry point
into the Edison ecosystem.
While COVID-19 has accelerated the adoption of cloud technology, analyzing
data from a distance can pose various risks to operational efficiency and
patient care. Concerns around bandwidth, network and latency challenges remain
when a matter of seconds could determine the outcome for a patient. For
example, time is critical when diagnosing and treating stroke—around 2 million

It doesn’t take long to help girls see a future for themselves in computer science, but it depends largely on how good their teachers are at recognizing the skills the girls have in coding, which is basically writing language for computers. We found that girls ages 10 to 12 can come to see themselves as coders in as little as a week. And there are diverse roles within the world of coding that allow girls with various personalities and skill sets to see themselves as coders. However, if educators recognize girls only for when they play a background role and help others, but not when they are more assertive and confident, then they may not develop their assertiveness
Ultimately, the subcommittee concluded that instead of preserving jobs, the Trump administration’s implementation of the Payroll Support Program “significantly weakened the Program’s impact on job preservation.”
The subcommittee’s assessment comes in stark contrast to how the program has played out for passenger airlines, which received the bulk of the more than $25 billion that was allocated to pay front-line workers. Airline and union leaders say the program saved tens of thousands of jobs until it expired Oct. 1 and have been aggressively pushing to extend it through the end of March.
“The Payroll Support Program has supported hundreds of thousands of aviation industry jobs, kept workers employed and connected to their healthcare, and played a critical role in preserving the U.S. airline industry,” the Treasury Department said in a statement. “Implementation focused first on the largest employers to help stabilize an industry in crisis and support as many jobs as

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Success in the digital economy requires organizations to move beyond a traditional, cost-sensitive view of infrastructure and adopt a broader recognition that a responsive, scalable, and resilient cloud-centric infrastructure will help drive revenue while aligning technology adoption and IT operational governance with positive business outcomes. The transition to a cloud-centric digital infrastructure, which is already underway within many organizations, depends upon commitment to a digital strategy accompanied by a new set of key performance indicators focused on resource optimization, consistent resilience, and continual enhancement. To guide organizations through this transition, International Data Corporation (IDC) has published the Future of Digital Infrastructure framework.
Digital infrastructure will continue to grow in volume and complexity, increasingly extending to assets deployed in the edge, such as multi-access edge computing nodes (MAECs), campuses, buildings, and metro colocation facilities. It will include resources that facilitate rapid adaptation of applications and code to
