IonQ Releases A New 32-Qubit Trapped-Ion Quantum Computer With Massive Quantum Volume Claims

Last May, I had a discussion with Peter Chapman, CEO of IonQ, a start-up quantum computing company.  Before coming to IonQ, Chapman worked for Amazon, where he was responsible for all the technical complexities of Amazon Prime.  IonQ had accomplished a lot in the twelve months that Chapman had been at the helm, so I was looking forward to talking to him.

My biggest surprise during that discussion was that IonQ was simultaneously working on its next three generations of its trapped-ion quantum computers – 5th, 6th, and 7th generations.

In a recent follow-up with Chapman, including Chris Monroe, IonQ’s Co-founder and Chief Scientist, we discussed IonQ’s release of its 5th generation quantum hardware.  Keep in mind that the 6th and 7th generations are still in development. Chapman said that each generation would be smaller and more powerful than its predecessor when released.  Although he

Yardi Releases Kno2 Integration for Clinical Information Exchange | News

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Oct. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Yardi® has significantly expanded interoperability in Yardi® EHR through a new integration with Kno2®. Kno2’s Interoperability as a Service™ (IaaS) enables Yardi EHR clients to securely share clinical records with more than 2.4 million health care providers nationwide.

Although electronic health records are standard in hospitals and senior living communities, transferring patient data between systems remains challenging. Providers still regularly share clinical information via fax, phone or printouts. These manual methods can lead to mistakes and omissions, which impacts care continuity during critical transitions.

The Kno2 integration, available as an add-on for all Yardi EHR clients, allows senior living staff to streamline and receive clinical information, such as referrals coming from various sources, as well as participate in value-based care coordination. For incoming residents, health data automatically flows into Yardi EHR. If clinical information needs to be shared with an external

Microsoft releases tool to update Defender inside Windows install images

microsoft-defender-atp-now-scans-windows-5eef8de69c89f47042ec66fd-1-jun-23-2020-12-00-14-poster.jpg

Microsoft has released on Friday a new tool that will allow system administrators to update the Defender security package inside Windows installation images (WIM or VHD supported).

The new tool was created for enterprise environments where workstations and servers are serviced or mass-installed using installation images.

Some of these images are reused for months at a time, and the Microsoft Defender (default antivirus) package found inside would usually end up being installed using an out-of-date detection database.

The newly installed Windows operating systems would eventually update the Defender package, but Microsoft says that this creates a “protection gap” during which systems could be easily attacked and infected.

Microsoft’s new tool is intended to allow system administrators to update their WIM or VHD installation images to contain the most recent Defender component before deploying it on their device fleet.

The new tool was provided for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures and
