The research has also shown that experiencing nature in virtual reality could have even larger benefits, boosting positive feelings and increasing people’s connection to the natural world.
Under laboratory conditions, researchers from the University of Exeter first induced feelings of boredom in 96 participants by asking them to watch a video in which a person describes their work at an office supply company. They then experienced scenes of an underwater coral reef in one of three different ways: on TV; in a VR headset using 360o video; and in a VR headset using computer generated interactive graphics.

Facebook said Wednesday that it would step up enforcement against posts designed to interfere with voting at polling places, as the company prepares for the possibility of violence leading up to next month’s election.
In a new policy, Facebook said it would remove posts that use militarized language to call for people to participate in poll watching. The policy change follows criticism that Facebook had been too lenient on posts with military-style language, including one in which Donald Trump Jr. called on people to “enlist” in an “army” for his father’s “election security operation.”
Facebook will “remove calls for people to engage in poll watching when those calls use militarized language or suggest that the goal is to intimidate, exert control, or display power over election officials or voters,” Guy Rosen, Facebook’s vice president of integrity, said in a company blog post.

Watching images and videos of cute animals for a minimum of 30 minutes reduces stress and anxiety levels, according to a study conducted by researchers from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom and the Tourism of Western Australia jointly.
In the study, first reported by CNN, the researchers monitored related vitals of 19 respondents comprised of 15 students and four university staff. To get the most ideal results, the study was conducted during the respondents’ winter exams as such a period proved to be the most stressful for both students and staff.

SpaceX, Elon Musk’s company in charge with dreaming about humanity’s future away from this planet, has gotten us used to incredible feats. First, there was the reusable rocket booster, which took off and then landed either on pads or on funky named drone ships in the middle of the Ocean.
Then, we had a red car sent to space, for future generations or alien civilizations to find and wonder “what the hell is it?” And, more recently, we started seeing space launches from entirely new angles.
