Simple, slick and easy-to-implement, Zoom was primed to fill the gap and urgent needs of emerging remote demands. The video conferencing tool has since exploded in popularity, leading the pack of IT tools adopted in the pandemic and becoming an integral part of businesses, schools and conferences.
Despite it’s fast rise to the top, hardly a day passes without at least one mention of Zoom in the news. The company has faced security issues, including having meetings hijacked in attacks called “Zoom-bombings.” More recently, Zoom made headlines because of a sustained outage that caused massive disruption for its users. On the morning of August 24th, 2020, students, teachers and professors around the world were unable to connect for their first day of remote classes, derailed by a Zoom outage that lasted nearly four hours. The incident caused serious headaches and raised serious red flags from users Zoom technology
It might not be an opportune time to be out and about but Canon thinks people will, at one point in time, want to escape the monotony of the new normal and go outdoors. Some might even take to nature and to the night skies for a bit of reprieve. Those are pretty much the situations where Canon’s newest PowerShot ZOOM camera might be of use, helping people get close to the action even while staying far, far away.
Canon’s PowerShot line is designed for ease of use and you probably can’t get any simpler than this. Coming in a form reminiscent of camcorders, the PowerShot ZOOM is a compact monocular camera that does just one thing and that is to take you closer to your subject matter as quickly and as easily as possible.
To that end, the PowerShot ZOOM offers three telephoto lengths of 100mm, 400mm, and 800mm,
Are you patiently waiting for the new iPhone 12 unveiling? The big reveal was delayed this year due to COVID-19, but we’re finally going to get a peek at that new iPhone this week.
The iPhone 12 reveal wasn’t the only delay, though. Apple’s annual fall event was pushed back earlier this year, too — and along with it, the unveiling of new iPads and Apple Watches. Did you miss the Apple fall event? Tap or click here to see new watches, iPads, and everything else that was announced.
The delayed unveiling of iPhone 12 sparked tons of speculation over what this version will look like — and a new leak has given us some pretty specific details about what to expect. If leaked details are accurate, the new iPhone 12 is going to have some pretty big upgrades. Let’s take a look.

Announced in a press release, Nvidia said that the “GPU-Accelerated AI Platform, Nvidia Maxine, enables video-conference providers to vastly improve streaming quality and offer AI-powered features.”
Maxine is a cloud-native platform, which means that the heavy lifting is done on Nvidia’s servers.
Video compression saves bandwidth
Video-compression technology based, as so much of the company’s product claims to be, on AI, means that the video bandwidth consumption is massively reduced. This makes for much smoother video, even with internet speeds that leave much to be desired.
Shares of Zoom Video Communications (ZM) – Get Report rose after Mizuho analysts initiated coverage of the videoconferencing company with a buy rating and a price target of $550 a share.
The target represents 15% potential upside from the stock’s Thursday closing price. Zoom shares at last check rose 2% to $487.92.
“Zoom’s meteoric rise during covid-19 has been driven by uptake of its best-of-breed videoconferencing tool, which became a global sensation almost overnight,” analyst Siti Panigrahi said.
Year to date Zoom shares have jumped by more than a factor of seven as the work-from-home trend that had begun prior to this year accelerated because of the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns.
Zoom “can continue to deliver outsized revenue growth due to its position as a market leader, its global recognition, cross-sell opportunities, and its position in a growing and underpenetrated long-tail market,” the analyst wrote.

2020RR2’s close approach will occur on the same day as Mars’ close approach to Earth
An asteroid about as tall as the Chicago Water Tower will zip past Earth this Tuesday, NASA’s Center for Near Earth Object Studies data reveals.
Towering at a height of 154 feet, this Near-Earth Object (NEO) will make its approach on Oct. 6, at exactly 10:55 a.m. EDT. Named 2020RR2, it will fly by the planet at about 4.08 kms or 14,000 kmph (8,699 mph). This NEO will be about half as tall as the Statue of Liberty in New York.

Microsoft’s Teams had a very busy September adding a host of new features. Now, the firm is looking to improve the performance of its Teams service as it continues in the battle to beat Zoom in the video conferencing space.
In an update detailing the features added in September, Microsoft explained how it was trying to improve Teams’ performance as a large proportion of the workforce continue to work from home.

GoPro garnered attention earlier this year when it made a webcam tool for its Hero 8 Black and, now, Hero 9 Black cameras. But there’s a better option out there.
Insta360 recently updated the firmware of its One R with what might just be the best application to date of a webcam feature in an action camera.
This is a pleasant surprise, as Insta360 has a reputation for releasing software features that aren’t quite ready for prime time.
What makes the Insta360 One R webcam mode so special? There are three notable aspects here.
Simplicity is the first. To use a GoPro as a webcam you need to install a piece of software on your Mac or Windows PC. It acts as a bridge between camera and OS, and GoPro’s focus is MacOS, meaning there’s

Video conferencing software developer Zoom was undoubtedly the big winner during the COVID-19 epidemic. Its share price has risen by 569% this year, and its market value has risen to $129 billion. This means that the market value of the company which has only been established for only nine years, has surpassed that of IBM, the veteran tech giant, and twice as much as VMware, the cloud software developer.
Not long ago, Zoom demonstrated its new augmented reality features. Users can now join the 3D virtual scenes and view the virtual scenes without special hardware, but the presenter must wear an AR HMD. The Zoom augmented reality function will only support Meta at first and will support more devices in the future.
His net worth increased as much as $12 billion in 6 months
Zoom’s value skyrocketed during the pandemic
Eric Yuan’s net worth was just $5 million six months ago. He saw his wealth increase by as much as $12 billion during the pandemic, thanks to the company he founded, Zoom.
COVID-19 wreaked havoc to many businesses. It forced others to shift to digital while some were shut down permanently. Zoom, as a video conferencing app, did not encounter such problems. It even grew bigger than Lyft and Pinterest. When the pandemic put the world on a standstill, people relied on Zoom to somehow put normalcy in life: they used it to communicate with relatives and friends, conduct meetings with officemates, and carry on online schooling, among others.
Yuan was already rich when Zoom went public last year pre-COVID, so what the
